Unity is a link in the
great educational movement inaugurated by Jesus Christ. Our objective is to discern the truth in Christianity and prove it. The truth that we teach is not new, neither do we claim special revelations or discovery of new religious principles. Our purpose is to help and teach mankind to use and prove the eternal Truth taught by the Master.
The system of thought that Charles and Mrytle Fillmore developed is not complex. It rests on these fundamental ideas:

There is only one presence and one power in my life and in all life, God the good, omnipresent and omnipotent.
- We all have a spark of divinity within. Our very essence is of God and we are therefore inherently good.
- We create our experiences by the activity of our minds. Everything has its start in thought.
- Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with the Divine Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity and everything good.
- Knowing and understanding the Laws of Life we call Truth, is not enough. We must live the Truth we know.
What We Believe:
- We believe that God is good and that His will for every one of us is health, happiness, and prosperity.
- We believe that such a life begins with the realization that we are made in the "image and likeness" of God and our purpose is to bring forth this "image and likeness" now.
- We believe that by practicing the Universal Principles handed down in sacred literature and taught by our Wayshower, Jesus Christ, we can bring forth our True Self.
- We believe that our experiences are a reflection of our beliefs and the key to happy and successful living is right thinking followed by right action.
- We believe that the basis for right thinking is LOVE - love of God, love of our fellowman, and love of ourselves.
- We believe that learning to listen to the "still small voice, " or the deep desires of our heart, will insure that we are guided into right action.
- We believe that our primary efforts should be to help people discover and release the divine potential within them.
- We believe that people everywhere are hungry for these practical techniques that will help them overcome apparent limitation and fulfill the good desires of their hearts.
- We believe that Unity Church of the Cumberlands has an opportunity and a mission to share these teaching with all who are willing to listen.
Our Vision:
We are building a foundation of love and trust that invites growth for us individually and collectively by creating a place where all people can come to know their oneness with God.
